1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use BabyLog, we may collect or process:
- Account information, such as email address, display name, authentication identifiers, and login session data.
- Baby profile information entered by a parent or caregiver, such as name, date of birth, and avatar or profile details.
- Baby care activity logs, such as feeding, diaper, sleep, wake-up, notes, timestamps, quantities, and related details.
- Family or caregiver collaboration information, such as invite emails and family member roles.
- Voice logging information, including audio you record, transcripts, parsed activity details, and related processing metadata.
- Subscription and entitlement information, such as whether your account has access to paid features.
- Device, app, diagnostics, advertising, and usage information, including app version, platform, crash or error data, and general interaction data.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve BabyLog.
- Create and sync baby care logs across authorized caregivers.
- Authenticate users and protect accounts.
- Process voice recordings into transcripts and structured activity records.
- Provide subscription features, restore purchases, and manage paid access.
- Show and manage ads for users who are not on a paid plan, where ads are enabled.
- Send app notifications if you enable them.
- Debug issues, prevent misuse, improve reliability, and understand app performance.
- Respond to support requests and legal or safety obligations.
3. Voice Recordings and AI Processing
If you use voice logging, BabyLog reads your recorded audio from your device and sends it to our backend service so it can be transcribed and parsed into baby care activities. Voice processing may use third-party transcription and AI service providers. Transcripts and parsed activity records may be stored with your BabyLog account. Audio recordings may also be stored locally on your device so you can review them, and you can clear local audio recordings from the app where that feature is available.
4. Third-Party Services
BabyLog may use service providers to operate the app. These providers may process information for us only as needed to provide their services. Depending on configuration, these providers may include:
- Backend, database, authentication, realtime, and serverless function providers, such as Supabase or InsForge.
- Voice transcription and AI processing providers, such as Deepgram and OpenAI-compatible AI services.
- Subscription and purchase management providers, such as RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play billing systems.
- Advertising providers, such as Google AdMob, if ads are enabled.
- Analytics, diagnostics, and notification providers, such as PostHog or Expo services, if configured.
5. Ads and Analytics
BabyLog may show ads to free users. Where ads are enabled, we request non-personalized ads when supported by the advertising provider. We may also use analytics or diagnostics tools to understand app performance and improve BabyLog.
6. Children and Baby Information
BabyLog is for adults who are parents or caregivers. A parent or caregiver may enter information about a baby or child in order to track care activities. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts or submit information directly. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to BabyLog without appropriate involvement from a parent or guardian, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
7. Sharing Information
We may share information:
- With caregivers you invite or authorize in BabyLog.
- With service providers who help us operate BabyLog.
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your baby care logs.
8. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide BabyLog, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Local voice recordings may remain on your device until you delete them or use the app's clear-audio controls, where available.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You may be able to access, update, export, or delete certain information through the app. You can also contact us to request help with account or data questions. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or objection to certain processing.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Processing
Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where we or our service providers operate. By using BabyLog, you understand that information may be processed outside your country of residence.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the app or by other reasonable means.
